During the Second World War, the United States Air Force
used a special pursuit plane known as the Douglas P-70 Nighthawk. The primary
purpose of this plane was night missions of high altitude and typically used for
training Night Fighter Squadrons. Despite the short use of these planes during
the war itself, the name “Nighthawk” was later reassigned to the famous
Lockheed F-117 Stealth Bomber still used today.
The new Omikron Pilot series watches share the names of
these mid 20th century aircraft to remember them and the heroes who flew
them. They have also been made with exclusive Swiss Leschot LM-196 super automatic caliber movements. The “Nighthawk” in particular is set with Tritium hands
and markers so you can keep abreast of time even when on your own night mission.
The stainless steel case has built in shock absorbers to keep your jet-black
dial and 21-jeweled movements in pristine working order despite everyday use. A
date window at the 3 o’clock position also keeps you focused on the day of the
month even when your mission may draw you into enemy territory.
