The Lockheed C-69 Constellation was developed as a fourengine civilian airliner, and in that role (after World War II) it became the
most elegant and certainly one of the most successful airliners ever produced by
US industry. During the War, however, it was modified to be a fast military troop transport plane, and soon the C-69 conversion was born. 21 models were
made specifically for the US Air Force, and managed to make its mark as a major
participant in civil aviation after the War’s end.
The new Omikron Pilot series watches share the names of these mid 20th century aircraft to remember them and the heroes who flew them. They have also been made with
exclusive Swiss Leschot LM-196 super automatic caliber movements. The
“Constellation”, in particular has this movement modified to include both a
date dial above the 6 o’clock hour and a lunar dial below the 12 o’clock
hour. These features nestled against a dark blue dial are protected within a
thick 44mm stainless steel casing that can even withstand 50 meters of outside
water pressure. No doubt, this timepiece will also make its mark in the realm of
watch collecting.
