The Douglas SBD Dauntless was the most celebrated dive-bomber the US Navy used during World War II. Indeed this little single-engine plane is merited with sinking three separate enemy aircraft carriers during the Battle of Midway among others to give the US Air superiority in the Pacific leg of the War. A great deal of the Dauntless’ success was its ability to dive at speeds up to 170 mph.
The Omikron Pilot series watches share the names of these mid 20th century aircraft to remember them and the heroes who flew them. They have also been made with exclusive Swiss Leschot LM-196 super automatic caliber movements. This beautiful timepiece is separated into four different functions that combine with the hour and minute hands for a complete timekeeping motif. The guilloche textured dial is then embellished with a lustrous stainless steel case and a lizard textured leather strap that is held in place by means of a matching stainless steel slip butterfly buckle.
These pieces are offered in a limited edition that is sure to become a wonderful collector’s item for years to come.
